It doesn’t have the finger-licking waffles and crisp bacon that breakfast lays claim to, and most of us don’t have time to make the casseroles or meat-and-potatoes dishes we enjoy at dinnertime. Heck, it can be tough to even escape from our desks to get a midday meal in.

For Paleo lovers, lunchtime can be even more of a challenge—no grains typically means no sandwiches, and how many salads can one person eat? No need to stress. Over the years, the Paleolithic Diet (a.k.a. the Paleo Diet, Stone Age Diet, the Primal Blueprint, Caveman—aliases go on) has gotten a slightly inaccurate reputation for being uber restrictive, cutting every carb out there, and focusing on mountains of meat.

But there’s more to eating like a caveman than turning into a hardcore carnivore. The diet, which incorporates plenty of fruits and veggies, is about ditching sugar-loaded, highly processed, grain-dominated food in favor of the foods of our ancestors. They bake up nice and crispy in nonstick muffin tins, making them easy to make in large batches. We love to make a big batch on a Sunday night and then eat these all week, ensuring we always have wholesome, high-quality, protein-rich snacks on hand.

Once again, it’s almond flour for the win! These moist, tender muffins have all the benefits of healthy, low-sugar blueberries and fiber-rich almond flour, and their muffin form makes them easy to eat on the go. Oh, and, served with some lightly salted grass-fed butter, they are just about the most perfect afternoon snack on earth.

These moist pumpkin pancakes taste like fall on a plate, but since pumpkin puree is available canned or boxed year-round, they can be yours any time. We love them with a small amount of fresh grass-fed butter and real maple syrup, as an occasional treat, but they’re delicious with a light drizzle of coconut oil and a dash of salt as well. Oh, and they freeze like a dream, so make a big batch in advance, wrap tightly in foil or plastic wrap, and have pumpkin pancakes on hand for anytime the craving hits (and believe us, it will hit).

We highly doubt your non-paleo friends will be able to tell the difference between this potato salad and conventional potato salad. But even if they do, they’ll be too distracted by the delicious bacon in this one to care. We’ve also tried this one with sweet potatoes, and we highly recommend it.

Grain-Free Lasagna

Once you have all your ingredients assembled, this lasagne comes together quickly – and is a pretty amazing foil for the traditional kind. This recipe calls for making coconut flour crepes in advance, and using them as the tortillas. This takes a little time, but remember, it’s all in pursuit of rich, lasagne goodness. It’s important to note that this one contains cheese, so you’ll want to skip it if you can’t eat dairy.

We get it. Sometimes, you just want a nice slice of bread. A sandwich, perhaps? Or just a piece of toast with butter. Thanks to this life-changing recipe from What’s That Smell, you can have it both ways—and with no weird flours or gums. Just your run of the mill Paleo staples, coconut and almond flours.

Bacon-Wrapped Curry Burgers with Sweet Potato “Buns”

These crazy-flavorful beef burgers (though the recipes says any ground meat will work—we think pork or chicken would be good too) are made easy to eat thanks to the genius sweet potato “buns” in the recipe. We found these to be so juicy that they hardly needed any condiments, but if you can’t not doctor your burger up, a touch of spicy mustard would be delicious here.

Paleo Chicken Alfredo

This outrageous chicken alfredo recipe absolutely nails the key to good kelp noodles: cooking them for a long long time. Like, way longer than you think you need to. The idea is to cook out their crunch to make them more closely mimic regular noodles. If you can’t find kelp noodles, shirataki noodles will work well here. And the creamy cashew-based alfredo sauce? Unbelievably good.

Slow Cooker Mocha-Rubbed Pot Roast

Chocolate and coffee might seem like an odd accompaniment for beef, but just trust us here. The deep, dark flavors in both bring out the rich, umami essence of the beef, yielding a pot roast that will feed you all week. Try the meat wrapped in lettuce cups, as paleo tacos, layered atop a crunchy green salad, or on its own. You won’t be able to stop eating (or thinking about ) it.

Perhaps one of the biggest struggles we hear from readers is that it’s a challenge to find grab-n-go paleo snacks or on-the-go breakfasts. These energy bars seek to solve that problem, and they do a pretty darn good job. A food processor makes the job much easier, but a blender or even a mortar and pestle will work. Make an extra-big batch of these and keep them in the refrigerator or freezer so you’re prepared with a healthy snack whenever hunger strikes.

The filling in the recipe is a classic pork, but we can’t wait to experiment with an all-vegetable filling, or a shrimp-and-pork combination.

This Paleo take on a classic recipe calls for homemade olive oil mayonnaise, in place of the usual canola stuff. We like to make a big batch of olive oil mayonnaise to keep on hand anyway, so this was as good and excuse as any to make it. The salmon is ultra-tender, beneath its flavorful sauce, and we served it with a green salad and lemony cauliflower “rice.“

Great list, can’t wait to try a lot of them! But you left out some recipes from (IMHO) the BEST blogger out there, Simone Miller of Zenbelly. Her chocolate cake, pizza crust, muffins (and all of her main dishes) BY FAR exceed simple almond flour baked goods!

Thanks for the post. I’m always looking for new recipes to add to my paleo recipe box. I’ll definitely be trying the soups. Also, my favorite paleo recipe of all time is seared fresh tuna steaks on a bed of sauteed cabbage. Throw a salad of microgreens on the plate and you’re good to go!

From grocery aisles to restaurant menus to primal vending machines, the paleo lifestyle has officially gone mainstream. And if you’re still not clear on what it entails, there’s no need to crawl under a rock. The paleo diet is based on the idea that our bodies are function best when fed the same diet our caveman ancestors enjoyed. That means saying yes to grass-fed meats, eggs, vegetables, fruits and seeds, and no to dairy, grains, legumes and processed foods. While these restrictions can seem hard to follow at first, fear not — maintaining a paleo diet can easily be delicious and healthy. Plus, it might make your body feel better, too. Before heading out into the wild, bookmark these paleo recipes that will have you covered from sunrise to sundown — breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert included.

Below you will find all of my healthy Paleo recipes. The Paleo diet is the diet of our ancestors. The Paleolithic era occurred during the period spanning from 10,000 to 2.5 million years ago. During that time we werehunter-gatherers. Then things changed with the advent of the agricultural revolution.

Around 10,000 years ago grains were introduced into our diet. This has been a radical dietary shift for mankind. For 99% of our existence man has lived on a grain free diet. Therefore, grains are a “new food.” I believe that certain people such as myself are ill adapted to digest grains and that the consumption of grains can cause chronic “untreatable” health conditions.

Why? Grains contain certain antinutrients which prevent their absorption in the gut. The antinutrients in grains serve as an evolutionary strategy to protect the integrity of the grain so that it can survive. This same protection creates harm in the body of people such as myself. I have been grain free since 2001 and believe it has helped my health immeasurably.

Therefore I have composed this page with my best Paleo recipes. You can also check out my Weekly Paleo Meal Plan. As a lifelong athlete I have personally found that Paleo diet recipes provide superior nutrition for athletic performance.

My opinion about Paleo Recipes

Hi, in this post i will share my experience about paleo recipes to you. It was always my dream to lose extra weight but i love cooking and eat what i love, paleo diet helped me to do both of them, with this unique recipes i can make food that i love, eat what i want and do not gain extra weight because of that. Before that i’ve tried to use many recipes, i bought many of them and found free ones while searching them in Google, some of them where effective but most of them where vegetable diets, i love to eat vegetables too but i prefer to cook meal that are made from meat, with this unique recipes i can do that, food that i make with help of this recipes are just delicious and it won’t make your body gain extra weight, i’m very happy that i finally found recipes that will not make you to eat only vegetables and also will not make you to gain extra pounds. Once i was 68 pounds, then i started to take some lose weight pills, i’ve started to losing weight but after i stopped to take this pills i’ve gain extra weight again, i can say that most effective way to lose weight is good diet plan, if you will type “diet plan” in Google’s search you will find lot of them but none of them are as effective as paleo diets, even if you did not have extra weight problems you can anyway use this recipes because they are delicious, i just love how this food tastes and looks like, this recipes are amazing for anyone who loves cooking.
